Reeetown Council met January 25 1015 with Mayor Holmes presiding. It adopted minutes and reviewed communications and accounts including salivation army grant tax enforcement and rink expenses. The Finance Committee proposed license fees for restaurants laundries and livery stables and officers for 1916 were appointed including medical health officer and license and weed inspectors with salaries as noted.
The Hillside School District held its annual meeting on the school premises with strong attendance. The financial report showed a cash balance of 410 and delinquent taxes of 351, debt reduced to 1000. Martin was elected trustee to replace James Crawford. Mise Brown of Rosetown was hired as teacher for 1915. Various residents visited Saskatoon and attended agricultural courses. The community notes reveal healing from illness and a youth card party hosted by the Rebekah Lodge.
The Bonnie View team defeated Least 6 to 2 on the ice in a delayed Monday match that was postponed from Thursday due to weather. After the game, Bonnie View treated the visitors to supper and a dance before returning home at 7 p m. G F Melrose visited Rosstown last weekend. Kerrobert beat Herschel 6-3 Friday night.
The Reeetown Outlook hockey team lost 4 to 2 as Outlook overwhelmed the locals with early goals and strong defense led by Haddock. Scallens made several key saves while Aseltine Brownbridge and Kunkel contributed to Roetown’s scoring, amid rough play and penalties.
