Harvest 2012 Yields Down Across The Board
Crop yields are down due to weather disease and insects across the region. Wheat averages are 40 to 45 bushels per acre, with some basing around 20 to 70s in spikes. Canola struggles with emergence flooding flea beetles and worm damage, averaging 15 to 18 bushels, with some fields as low as five to ten. Some pulses run 60s to 80s, while timing and variety affect outcomes. Dockage is also a concern this year.
