Army Display Team Visits Roblin
A large crowd viewed the Army Display on the Collegiate grounds in Roblin on Sept 12. The show featured two eight million candle power search lights, an amphibian DUKW, a mobile repair shop, a wrecking truck, and small arms gear. The RCA band played as soldiers performed a two minute Retreat, motorcycle riders wowed spectators with ramp jumps, and a screening of The Way Ahead with David Niven closed the event.

September session of the Makaroff Women’s Institute met at Mrs Charlie Elliott’s home with eight members and five visitors. Vice president Mrs James Arnott presided, a sing song led by Mrs William Nowell, and a knitting demonstration by Mrs Jack Davis. A jam and jelly donation appeal was made for the Hospital Aid.

Roblin Council Minutes Record September Meeting
The Roblin district council met on Wednesday September 3 at 2 p.m. with Reeve Clarke presiding and all councillors present. The minutes of the August meeting were approved and accounts totaling 8707.82 were passed for payment including multiple individuals and local services. By laws were read for land tax sale dates road openings and transfers, plus approval of an old age pension for Mrs Marie Bach. The meeting adjourned to October 1 following the Court of Revision.
