Russell RCMP investigated a fatal collision near Russell on PTH 16. A north bound SUV struck a south bound pickup truck head on just before midnight, killing an Inglis man.
A collision involving a truck and an SUV left the 73-year-old driver from Inglis dead at the scene and two passengers treated for non life threatening injuries. Alcohol is not suspected and investigators were aided by a traffic analyst with Environment Canada and The Weather Network.
PotashCorp Rocanville continues expansion begun in 2008 to raise nameplate capacity from 2.6 to 5.7 million tonnes. Workers and materials will be moved underground via a 20 km Scissors Creek shaft while Rocanville’s current shaft becomes a second production shaft to surface ore.
