Mountain View schools join WHO health study
MVSD with Dauphin Regional Secondary and Grandview and Winnipegosis elementary schools selected for the World Health Organization Health Behaviour in School Age Children study co-ordinated through Queen’s University. The survey, random among Canadian boards, questions grades 9 10 at DRCSS and grades 6 8 at Grandview and Winnipegosis on health behaviours. Results expected spring 2010 after late fall administration.

KPM Cataloguing Committee update on donated treasures
Donation yields illuminate long lost items for the KPM. The August 21 acceptance included a 1905 horse net with green yarn and orange bobbles once owned by Joseph Hayward and donated via Alice Pearson. Also in the box was a Twinplex Razor Stropper from the Twinplex Stamping Company, a device to renew double edged blades.

Kin Canada leader Boehm gains national profile and impact
Gerri Boehm, longtime Roblin Kin member, represents Kin Canada on the national board of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Kin clubs have a 45 year link with CCFF and have raised about 37 million dollars, contributing roughly one million annually to CF research coast to coast. Boehm also does motivational speaking and won a national Kin Club public speaking title three years ago.
