Miss Yvonne Ver Wighen spent the weekend with her sister. The Irvine and Lawren ce families from Dauphin visited Mr and Mrs Albert Johnson. Ed Priest hosted Roblin clergyman Alex Henderson at Reg Mortemore’s home. Lee Belton from Winnipeg and Mrs Burnett’s family joined at Bit Burnett’s, while Mrs Waller McGinnis and Yvonne of The Pas visited Earl McGinnis and friends.

Imperial Oil Creates Humanities Fellowship in Canada

Imperial Oil Ltd establishes a humanities fellowship of 1250 dollars per year open to Canadian university graduates for up to three years at any recognized university. It expands the company program to five fellowships yearly, with the other four focused on social and physical sciences. Beginning next year, summer studies will receive a 750 dollar supplementary award.

Manitoba Sees Record Oil Output In July 1954

Manitoba oil wells produced a record 396.00l barrels of crude in July pushing cumulative production toward five million. Average daily output was 12 774 barrels, double July 1934, up 1 600 from June. Four hundred six wells produced, 485 capable by month end, with twenty nine new wells added.
