Hon. D. G. McKenzie, minister of agriculture, urges Manitoba farmers to stop burning straw after harvest. Feed shortages loom across large areas, risking livestock starvation unless all straw with feed value is conserved and used. Affected animals may be moved to farms with feed or to forest reserves, with feed stored in straw stocks fed locally or shipped to designated points.
