Western Canadian farmers cling to top wheat varieties
The CWB 2010-11 Variety Survey shows limited change as farmers largely stick with familiar varieties. Lillian and Harvest lead CWRS with growing seed shares, Kane rises to third while AC Barrie, Superb and McKenzie decline. AC Metcalfe remains dominant in two-row malting barley. Legacy leads six-row. Stellar ND gains. Over 6,700 prairie farmers participated with full results online.
