MCPA Producer meetings scheduled in Sifton

Manitoba cattle producers in District 13 meet Thursday Oct 21 at 7 30 p m in the Sifton Community Centre to discuss phasing out Tripartite Crown land lease fees livestock seller insurance and other issues. MCPA president Sid Wilkinson says the meetings let members shape policy for the year. District 13 includes Boulton Shellmouth Hillsburg Shell River and Park North LGD.

RCMP report one-day seat belt check finds noncompliance

During Operation Impact on Oct 2, RCMP checked 90 vehicles and charged one driver for not wearing a seat belt. By Oct 15, 19 belt infractions were recorded under the STEP program. Local Sgt. Brakefield- Moore notes higher belt use but ongoing refusals. Other incidents include a Roblin assault case, a Valley River assault and unlawful confinement, a stolen bicycle report, and shoplifting at Kozmeniuk's Home Hardware.
