Boating safety course offered by Recreation Commission
The Recreation Commission offers a pleasure craft operator card course. Births after April 1, 1983 require the card immediately, and those with personal water craft or boats under four metres must have it by 2002, with all operators needing the card by 2009. Register at the Rec Office 937 8251 by Friday Oct 20 2000. A curling clinic follows on Saturday Oct 28 from 9 am to 4 pm at the venue.

Roblin Curling Club opens youth and adult instruction day
Rec News notes a Roblin Curling Club event offering classroom videos and on ice coaching by Level I coaches from Dauphin for all ages. Costs are adults 20 and juniors 5 with registration by Oct 23. Junior curling runs Wednesdays and information will be distributed at both schools.

Change room fund raises through community grant
Dale Yeo in charge of the change room fund raising project announced receipt of a $14,952 Community Places grant from MLA Stan Struthers last week. He said the loan is paid off and thanked the MLA for helping secure the grant. Funds support construction of new change rooms at the Leisure Aquatic Centre as the MLA praised local volunteers.
