October has been declared National Fish and Seafood Month. First CGST Meeting Held September 16 1969

The Canadian Girls in Training unit held its first meeting at the Intermediate School. Miss McColl led the session with elections for President Debbie Radtonets and secretary Isan Andres. Other officers included Treasurer Barb Rapdeber and committee members Gail Jeannette Radford Joanne Pitz Barbara Livingstone. Roblin Schools Hold Fire Drills During Prevention Week

Fire prevention week brings four drills in Roblin with Mr. H A Thiessen inspecting the elementary intermediate and collegiate buildings. Evacuation times ranged from one minute four seconds to twelve minutes with partial entrance blockages noted. Fire Chief Brade and Fireman Oliphant accompanied the inspector, and principals received safety pamphlets.

Roblin Collegiate holds largest grade XII class graduation

The Roblin Collegiate Institute auditorium hosted a large Grade XII graduation on October 11 attended by an oversized crowd. Principal W. M. Paziuk welcomed graduates and guests as awards were announced for perfect attendance and high standings.

Walkathon Totals Reported Pledges and Collections

Total proceeds of the Kinsmen Walkathon amount to 1 866.93 with 2 400.00 pledged. 533.07 remains outstanding. Volunteers and organizers tally the fundraising progress and note the remaining balance to reach the goal.

Hank Capelle returned Monday from Winnipeg after a 60th wedding anniversary. He visited Selkirk and Rainy River relatives. Mitchell Kapetz and family hosted long week end guests.
