Five Gilbert Plains men charged over Riding Mountain incident

Five men from Gilbert Plains face hunting offenses after an incident near Riding Mountain National Park on Sept 25. Charges include hunting inside a national park and, for Bill Robertson and Stewart Robertson, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle. A bull moose was killed outside the park during the event. The arrests followed an RCMP, DNR and park warden operation.

WayWayseecappo builds 40 room hotel at Shoal Lake

The Waywayseecappo First Nation advances a 50 000 square foot project titled The Shoal Lake Star. Project manager Paul Mentuck Jr confirms a 40 room hotel with 16 poolside rooms and a 1 053 square foot swimming pool and water slide to open later this year. The facility includes a 112 seat dining area a poolside patio a conference room and a lounge with 40 VLTs relocated from the Gaming Centre.

Grandview Sugar Loaf water project expands to 68 more homes

The RM of Grandview accepts a Saskatchewan firm bid to connect 68 additional households to the Sugar Loaf rural water pipeline. The PFRA supported project began in 1997 with the plant and 22 hook ups and Phase Three aims to complete the network at a total cost around 3.5 million dollars. Woman murdered.
