A long drought across Alberta Manitoba and Saskatchewan slashes yields to about 34 million tonnes from a forecast 48 million. Farm groups estimate nearly 1.5 billion in lost income while up to 15 percent of farmers already face debt, with ripple effects to retailers and beef markets.
