Merck Molnupiravir shows halved hospitalizations in Covid patients
Merck and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics report early results from a trial of Molnupiravir in 775 adults with mild to moderate Covid symptoms. Within five days of onset unvaccinated patients received the pill had 7.3 percent hospitalization or death at 30 days versus 14.1 percent on placebo, with no deaths in the treatment group.
