Mr and Mrs E Duchuk did not visit Dan Boychuk last Sunday. Si son Mid M Zibresky visited the Hagney home on Sunday. Mr Mike Zibresky, out for two months, will have an x ray examination. A box social at the Amosky home raised funds for the Rowan Catholic fund. Mo Riskin, Bic'd merchant, visited town. Adamosky hosted a bake sale. Tony narrowly avoided injury when a man stepped from a wagon and a wheel caught his shoulder.
Voters in rural town and village councils will nominate candidates on Thursday November 20 with voting from 1 to 2 pm and possibly a second round ten days later. Citizens are urged to consider municipal efficiency and tax impact, and to exercise the privilege with responsibility by supporting or reshaping elected officials at the next election.
Deepdale notes the death of H Comrie, an early Sunnyslope resident respected by the community. Sympathy extended to his wife and family. The Ladies Aid held their annual supper. Rev H Smith gave a Lantern Lecture on Trinidad. Hall Committee arranged a dance for younger people after.
Mr Alvin McKnight spent the weekend at Pelly Miss Verna Wilson returned to Dauphin to continue Normal after Thanksgiving. The annual UFM meeting moves to the 17th. A Hot Dog Supper and Dance on the 16th supports the Christmas Tree fund. Young people attended the Canora conference under United Church auspices. Ratepayers attended the Deepdale meeting on the 9th and left discouraged by the poor turnout. A special service in Togo heard Rev Dr Milson.
Mrs Fraser Cannon visited Winnipeg last week. Miss BD Appel returned from Chicago. Mr Fred Allen from Allendale returned from Winnipeg trip. Mrs W H Brown of Harding Man renewed acquaintances in town. John Gibson of Toronto visiting relatives. Returned Soldiers attended a banquet at Roblin. Mrs A J Leach hosted a bridge party. Mrs Cowley and Mrs Curtis headed to Saskatoon for winter. A Austin hosted a surprise party with clock gift. Thanksgiving services at United Church featured Rev Dr Millson of Saskatoon. Teas, sales, and a carload rally followed in Davis Hall.
The community reports Miss Scott visiting Dauphin for Thanksgiving due to car shortages. Mrs IL Chisholm plans singing in Winnipeg this winter. The Community Club Ladies hosted a Box Social and Dance on Friday the 16th. Trappers were fined for out of season trapping. Mr M Maticka and Miss Ana Ratasnick wed last Wednesday with district congratulations.
The United Church near Windoy will hold service as usual led by the pastor with the youth anthem presented by the choir and soloist Mr John Hil.
