Manitoba war casualty names grace lakes and creeks map features
Manitoba geographic features, including Mynarski Lakes and Wernham Lake, were named after World War II casualties. The policy began with the Geographic Board of Canada and expanded in 1955 to include undecorated names. The article lists examples such as Boatfield Lake and Eastholm Lake and notes certificates for next of kin and a push to update mapping records and directories.
