Police continue to probe the theft of more than $1,300 in items from the back of a half ton in San Clara. Between November 3 and 4, suspects broke the lock on a storage box in a 1974 Ford and stole John Deere combine belts a fuel pump an air impact wrench and an electric grinder. From the Files Detachment will present Drug Awareness Week to Goose Lake High Grade 10 on November 16 with Constable Lane Fedoruk and to Valley River Kindergarten through Grade 9 on November 18 with Constable Jeff Laforte and Sergeant Bob Brake Field Moore. Police report a Grade 7 incident at Goose Lake High not tied to school hours. a Valley River break and enter on November 2 was investigated and resolved. a November 2 hit and run damaged a Buick LeSabre on 8rd Avenue S W near Maple Manor. the suspect vehicle remains missing. mischief to a Roblin vehicle was reported on November 3.
Vera Davis received visitors including granddaughter Jo-Ann Davis and friend David Mousseau from Parksville British Columbia. Betty Rudd of Snow Lake also joined family time at Vera’s. Maggie Cameron accompanied Mabel Craig and Al McFadyen to Dauphin while visiting Glen McFadyen in hospital with Maggie later visiting her daughter and son-in-law Jean and Norman Angel. Lois Craig of Russell joined Maggie Cameron for supper with others in the lounge. Stan Charambura hosted weekend visitors daughter Mary Chernauska of MacNutt granddaughter Brenda Rosin and great grandson Jonathon Rosin with Karen Shultz. Lena Haberstock spent a few days in Yorkton visiting.
Edna Dayson returns home after an extended stay at Roblin Hospital and praises her care. Her sister Alice Plantje from Calgary plans to assist recovery, while Maggie Cameron Mabel Craig and Edie Bramwell host the first of weekly Bridge games at Ellen McArthur’s home. Bill Lunan visits from Brandon to spend time with his mother Ann Lunan, and Dora Kostecky is home from the hospital being visited by her son.
The Saltcoats Care Home marked Alvina Andrews turning 84 on Oct. 26 with family visiting from Red Deer and nearby relatives. Alfred and Martha Schaan celebrated their 44th anniversary on Oct. 23. A blood pressure clinic attracted a good turnout at the Senior Centre, now offering coffee from 10 to noon daily with plans to continue. Vera Andrews is set to be honored on Nov. 1. Pastor and Nancy Koene-continue community activities.
A MacNutt reader notes travel home for holidays in Indiana and wishes Happy Birthday to Ken Tokar on Halloween. Congrats to Dwayne and Marlene Rathgaber on a baby boy born October 14. James and Kimberly Schmidt welcome their first child born October 18, with grandparents Harry and Diane Schmidt, Glen and Barb Liebrecht of Calder, and Leonard and Francis Adams listed as great-grandparents.
