Town council redirects EDO funds to town initiatives
Roblin town council diverted remaining Roblin Shell River Economic Development Office funds to town projects due to one vacancy. An interim 50 percent of 36 000 for 2011 operating expenses was allowed, with funds usable elsewhere. Council rejected a term position for a Business Recruitment and Development Officer. Spruce Side Town approves 1000 donation to Manor committee for senior housing Wing addition proposed for Maple Manor. Committee and volunteers added to municipal insurance program. Grant support approved for Bug Chucker Cup starter funds to promote Roblin as Fly fishing capital of Manitoba. MTS service centre requested. Jewel of the Parkland promo participation with GX94 at 365 plus GST. Half-page ad for Roblin Northstars 2011/12. 500 donation to Roblin Agricultural Society for fair expenses.
