Brass Band For Roblin Soon Formed At School Meeting

Bands would require daily practice, rental costs, and shared instruments due to limited inventory, with lessons starting that Friday at the Junior School.

Commencement Exercises Held At Roblin Collegiate
A large crowd gathered in the Roblin Collegiate auditorium on October 27 1962 to honor twenty four graduates. Principal O Ziolkoski presided as chair and welcomed graduates with remarks from P Nowosad Intermountain School Division Board. Richard Hunter gave the valedictory and numerous awards were announced including the Isbister Scholarship and Gold Medal to Allan Maslove. The new student council installation and a departmental-Glee Club program followed before a luncheon to conclude the evening.

The first Telstar trans global reservation from Paris to Mexico City via New York was made at 8:15 p.m. Paris time and confirmed by Air France staff in New York. Funeral services were held at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church for Lawrence Nykolaishyn two months old of Roblin who died October 19 in Winnipeg. Interment followed at Parish cemetery with pallbearers named. Telephones Now Installed In Timber Northcliffe Area
Farmers in the Timber Northcliffe district pursued telephone service with patience. After initial meetings in Timber and Northcliffe schools twelve signed up, later surveys secured support. Manitoba Telephone System installed service on October 26 bringing twenty seven new homes onto the San Clara exchange and service from Roblin Central.
