Lutheran Ladies Aid Meeting Held May 5th
The Ladies Aid of Bt. Matthews Lutheran Church met May 5 at Mrs. Julius Otke's home with seven members and two visitors. Rev P Borchardt led prayer and study. Mrs. Andres presided. They plan a supper for the Walther League Rally in Roblin May 22, with committees led by Mrs. Orke and Mrs. Andres. A bake sale for Hospital Aid S28 was approved. meeting closed with a hymn and benediction.

Federal Grant Approved For Dauphin Hospital Expansion
The Federal Department of Health approved a $192,2200 grant for renovations and a new wing at Dauphin General Hospital. The plan adds active treatment beds and diagnostic Moor Space, with modernization to integrate the new wing. Completion is anticipated by October 1961, with funds released in quarterly instalments as milestones are met.

Hospital Auxiliaries Hold Regional Meeting May 12
The Sixth Regional Meeting of Hospital Auxiliaries convened in Gilbert Plains on Thursday May 12 at 2 p.m. Fifty four members from Dauphin Benito Gilbert Plains McCreary Swan River Ste. Rose du Lac Grandview Roblin attended. Provincial President Miss Macleod spoke urging continued volunteer work and hospital board engagement. A lunch followed hosted by Gilbert Plains ladies.

The Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion met in Roblin on May 10 with 21 members present. Obituary Jack Morresseau 83 Dies in Boggy Creek Man
Funeral services were held at San Clara Roman Catholic Church for Jack Morresseau aged 83 who died May 11 1960 at his Boggy Creek home after a short illness. Rev Dansereau officiated with Sneath Funeral Service arranging. Interment followed in Parish cemetery. Surviving are three sons Bill Arthur Justin and three daughters Agnes Lena and Bul.

Large Seeding Bee seeds 150 acres in eight hours
On Monday May 16 in the Tummel District at Eugene Bramwell's farm twelve neighbours moved in about $65 000 worth of machinery and cultivated roughly 150 to 155 acres of wheat in eight hours. Organized by Billy Keay the participants included Bill Burla Neil Burla Pete Galatiuk Nat McKay Don Robin John Craig Bill Craig Gordon McFadyen Keith Alexander Joe Wolowetz Albert McFadyen and Billy Keay. Master Timothy Shawn Conlin won a Silver Cup and $100 on Swift's Money Man program. The Roblin golf course project progresses with many locals clearing stones and prepping for oats and grass sowing while hopes rise for a September opening.
