World sugar shortages worsened by liberated Europe force Canada to cut sugar consumption for the rest of 1945. About 184 million pounds will be saved by lowering major user rations from two pounds to one pound for June July August October and December, while September and November stay at two pounds. Canning allotments and preserves ration remain unchanged.
