A health expert laments modern life’s ease and urges more varied exercise for all ages. He notes Canadians have become riders and spectators not active participants, and even housework is now often done sitting. Regular movement is essential for a stronger body.
The piece urges adults to adopt regular, intelligent exercise and proper rest, noting benefits like lower tension, weight control, and reduced backache. It warns that inactivity raises coronary heart disease risk and emphasizes consulting a doctor to tailor activity. It also hints at an early spring and summer readiness.
The Victoria Day weekend brings summer ease but also many drownings as people return to water after winter. In 1967 Canada saw 15 deaths. authorities urge boat checks, life jackets for all aboard, restraint of non-swimmers, no overloading, and constant supervision for children near water.
Two Manitoba tested sire groups set performance records at the Production Indexing Centre in Stanford Montana. Four Hereford bulls sired by Domino Standard PO8M raised the index to 117 meaning 17 percent better average weight per day of age. Kenesal's bulls averaged $1125 with top at $1475. Shorthorn bulls sired by Coroner Max Leader from Hantney posted the highest average daily gain with three bulls gaining over three pounds daily and a top sale of $1900. averages across the group were about $1300. Sires from these lines on test in Montana appear among the high gainers and sellers at the Manitoba Beef Indexing Centre.
