A May shower for bride elect Miss An n Ward was held at Mrs. Brig ram Ward's home with many friends in attendance. Miss Eva Melntyty read an address. Hazel Ward and May Mathews presented a decorative basket of gifts. The group sang For She's a Joly Good Fellow and enjoyed a dainty lunch.
Hon J S McDiarmid announces sport fishing reform to develop recreation and tourism. Residents will pay angling licenses only in specified forest reserves and northern waters above 53 degrees, where lake trout brook trout and graylings exist.
An experiment at the Brandon Experimental Farm asks when the best time to plough summer fallow is. Each year three fields are ploughed six inches deep with one on May 15 and the second on June 15.
A long term field experiment compares May 15, June 15 and July 14 ploughing dates. Wheat yields averaged 39, 37 and 32 bushels per acre respectively, showing early ploughing yields higher returns. Results align with similar tests at other western Experimental Stations.
