Wheat Pool members received 1931 adjustment cheques, delivering higher hard wheat payments. Most cheques ranged from 400 to 600 dollars, with the new prices 60 cents per bushel for hard wheat and 68 cents for durum. The Bennett era legislation enabled the payments, addressing earlier criticisms of unequal treatment between pool and non pool farmers. The government is praised for enacting fairness in grain pricing.
