National Tourist Week Announced by Resources Minister

Hon. J. S. McDiarmid announced May 2 as the opening date of National Tourist Week in Canada. He cited the tourist dollar spread to retail, service stations, and accommodations, noting Manitoba visitors spent over 12.5 million dollars in 1948 with significant benefits to local retailers, service stations, and hotel operators. He urged Manitobans to know their province, assist visitors, invite others to visit, be Canadian, and practice courtesy.
