District residents share social visits and itineraries with neighbors. Members attend a Deepdale Silver Tea and Bazaar raising 33.75 dollars at the church. many local families host and travel to nearby towns. Sympathies extend to Mrs. Fred Knight’s family. Nine youths join a new 4 H Garden Club.
A correction in the April 11 issue states K Lachance saved only about half his belongings in the fire, not most. The item lists local travel notes: Dale Laliberte of Lynn Lake visits J M Arcan in Dominion City, Vitaline Davey to Benito, and Kelly Lachance to Kelwood and back.
Miss Aurelia Baumung from Moosmin Sask spent the weekend with her parents the Baumungs in Calder Sask. Glenella Manitoba visitors with Eslinger and Watson families. Conrad Mann hosted a gathering for B Franklin of Dauphin to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. Sympathy extends to Val Kauk and family on the death of his wife at Regina Hospital April 26.
Mrs Geo Souter reports on visits from Mrs Charles and family, Mr and Mrs W Taylor, and Mr Wayne Ward seeking work in Winnipeg. The Shell River W I met at Mrs W Payne’s with nine members and one visitor, planning tea and bake sale, district convention delegates, and welfare and Peace Gardens donations. Next gathering at Mrs Adam Milcharek’s on May 16 with lunch help from Mrs Waggoner.
A meeting required each member to answer roll call with a penny per inch of waistline causing amusement. The event closed with a lunch hosted by the Ess family. Mr and Mrs Lloyd Waggoner of Winnipeg visited Mr and Mrs Ed Waggoner at their home.
Reports from Monday gatherings at the C Elliott home include Mrs J Topham and Mrs H Lee visiting. Congratulations to Eddy Duffy and partner on their Edmonton Alberta wedding. Visitors include Mr Eric Pound of United College Winnipeg. Local dances drew faithfuls and new families Mr and Mrs J Adamack with children arrive as principalship continues.
Parents of accordion students organized the Roblin Accordion Institute led by Cecil Brooks of Dauphin with Mrs Miller of Roblin as president. Officers include Lydia Miller as president Rose Hanson vice president Ray Buick secretary and Emil Klemetskie treasurer.
Philip Han son is listed as Master of Ceremonies with the Program Committee including Andrew Miller Dick Reid Albert Klemet ski and Emil Klemetski for the event.
