Federal budget brings good news for Manitoba farmers
KAP Manitoba president Bill Campbell says the federal budget adds 5 to 6 billion for rural high speed internet to reach over 900 communities and 200 000 kilometres of fibre. It funds 31 million over five years to bolster border sniffer dogs to curb African swine fever and supports supply managed sectors with 2.15 billion. Campbell notes exemptions for farm fuel remain limited to farm delivery and presses for full cardlock and grain drying cost relief.
