Flashback to March 9 1948 when the 4th Canadian Armoured Brigade fought west of the Rhine. Lake Superior Regiment Governor General's Foot Guards and Grenadier Guards attacked Winnenthal and Bonminghardt, capturing 90 prisoners with no Canadian casualties. About 200 paratroopers surrendered after infantry tanks and flame throwers joined a long battle. The brigade, including the Governor General's Foot Guards and the British Columbia Regiment, arrived in France in July 1944 and fought across Europe to final victory in May 1945.
