MVSD budget shows staffing at 80 percent of costs
School division official notes 80 percent of MVSD's operating budget goes to staffing. Enrolment based increases total 37,197 while categorical funding drops 325,453. Equalization funding rises 639,000 but municipal revenue pressure reduces property tax flow and overall mill rates. Budget decisions hinge on enrolment stability and provincial support with a board deadline at end of March.
