A packed Sunday show featured season-ending figure skating carnivals by the Togo Figure Skating Club and Roblin Skating Club. Ed Doering attended in Togo while Lucille McKinney photographed in Roblin at the Centennial Arena, which was full.
Manitoba will spring ahead at 2 a.m. on Sunday March 14 under the Official Time Act, moving clocks from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. The period runs until the first Sunday in November. While adjusting clocks, check smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector batteries.
A Roblin area group moves ahead with a Canada Foodgrains Bank growing project though no land is yet secured. About a dozen gather to discuss logistics, noting Swan Valley’s Field of Jubilee success and inviting broader involvement from farmers and non-farmers alike. The group seeks up to 160 acres, preferably donated, to start this year and will meet again March 16 at Chicken Delight banquet room.
