The Tummel Father and Son Banquet was held in the church last Saturday evening with red and gold decorations. C.G.L.T. girls served guests as toasts were given by fathers and sons, led by Stewart Inglis as toastmaster. Premier Armstrong’s address was well received and praised as a hopeful sign for the province. The event promotes unity through social, worship, and work among fathers and sons, and Taxis Square will begin operating under new leadership.

Tummel Women’s Institute Meeting at Mrs McDonald’s

The Tummel Women’s Institute met at Mrs McDonald’s on February 22 with many members present. The next meeting will be March 1 at the home of a member. A short humorous story was requested for role call, Miss Mitchell will discuss a paper on women and children’s legislature, and the group voted thanks to Mrs Sirett for typing their programme. Refreshments were served by Mrs Anderson and Mrs M McDonald.

In Winnipeg last week Henry Inasund and Mrs George Steinhouse were among locals noted in society and visiting. The district saw la grippe keep farmers home while Rural Credit Society met for important business. A Friday hall dance hosted by Olson and Buenos ended with lively dancing. Death came Sunday to pioneer Harry Williamson at seventy two. English-born, long resident of Russell and Bield, with Rev Prior conducting home and cemetery services. He is survived by his wife.
