Care Of Rubber Belting For Belt Maintenance
A cheap effective method to keep rubber belts in good condition and prevent slippage is to apply 20 to 30 drops of vegetable castor oil once a week on a small belt or about one-fourth to one-half ounce on the main drive belt. Mineral oil should never be used. Most commercial belt dressings are unsuitable unless advised by the belting manufacturer. Leave rubber belts on pulleys day and night, in all weather.
