Mrs J McNeil of Roblin visited Monday. Miss Luciel Curry of Winnipeg stayed with her brother Mr Curry and left Monday. Ladies Aid meeting postponed due to bad roads. Mr G Sargienia returned home after three months in Portage la Prairie. Chase Bros Sr came back from the States. Residents suffer a severe cold epidemic. A pretty wedding occurred last Sunday at Mr G Counchoskie’s home as their eldest daughter Stelle married Mr M Ostroskie.
Mr Rex Bangle returns home from the West on Tuesday. Mr and Mrs P Sloan visit with Mr and Mrs Cecil McKnight on Sunday. The UPM general meeting is set for Friday June 29 to discuss the Municipal Doctor issue. The Boys and Girls Swine Club hosted an ice cream social and dance but poor roads reduced turnout. thanks to attendees. Commissioner George Batho Weed spoke at UFM hall June 20 on eradicating couch grass and sow thistle.

On July 1 Hon J R Major will enforce provisions of the Magistrates Act from the last session. About 400 magistrates and 1400 justices of peace will cease functioning. 21 magistrates will take over, and likely one new justice of peace per municipality. The old JP list included nonacting and deceased names.
