At Assiniboine Community College ceremonies, Leo Paradis earned the Brandon Rotary Club high achievement award in Heavy Duty Mechanics at the Brandon campus on June 4. Sherry Hojnocki received the Dauphin Rotary Club award for General Business at the Parkland campus in Dauphin on June 5. Other Parkland grads include Darcy Cooper, Grant Weber, and Colin Paul among 107.

Supporters make the miracle happen Telethon reaches over million
The eighth annual Chil dren's Miracle Telethon on CBC TV raised 1 151 770 dollars over June 5 6. Telethon chair Jim Sangster praised volunteers donors and community groups from Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario for surpassing one million dollars for the second straight year. Co sponsored by the Children's Hospital and the Children's Hospital Research Foundation. More than 450 performers attended the two day broadcast.
