The state secretary's department reports Canada’s national holiday Dominion Day will be celebrated on July 1st. In 1913 a Monday in July was used, but an order reinstated July 1st. Some 1914 calendars show July 3. Dominion Day remains one of four wartime statutory holidays.
The Roblin workers donate 214 articles of clothing 20 caps 4 hats 88 pairs of shoes 3 nursery mats 7 quilts 1 or quilt 2 afghans to V Bundles this week. A shipment of old wool for blankets is being collected this Thursday and scraps are requested.
Village of Roblin council convened June 5 1944 with Reeve Clarke presiding. Motions granted grants to Salvation Army Grace Hospital and war work. Several bylaw and road sale approvals were passed including sales of NE 5-28-28 to Andrew Styba and NE 21-26-29 to P E McGinnis with no road work. Various payments approved including hospital relief and local services. Meeting adjourned.

Motion to prosecute future stone-laying on public roads. adoption of revised 1941 assessment roll for 1945. recommendation of Otto Brost old age pension. support grants totaling £100 to Salvation Army and funds to Grace Hospital and wet Selcher-Chick. accounts approved for M Borowski Kane Tractor Roblin Review and stationery costs.
Village minutes record the May 7 1944 meeting with Mayor West presiding. Present were councilors Kelso Ford and Taylor. A motion to adopt May 3 1944 minutes was approved and traffic bylaw No 330 was passed.
School board met June 1 with all members present except R We June. Minutes from last meeting adopted. Staff rehires include Stefansson Karr Glover Mitchell Johnston Barry Shewfelt Crawley and Ward for Grade VII and shop work. Salary terms set for several positions. Some resignations accepted and language teacher position advertised. Recreation quoted as remedy to juvenile delinquency.
