Bird Nest Patterns Across Seasons At Riding Mountain Park
Ken Kingdon notes varied nesting by species at Riding Mountain National Park. Early nesters like Great Horned Owls endure snow cover, Chickadees use rotten trees, Wrens nest in unusual spots, and Orioles host wrens in their nests. Goldfinches delay until late summer, Crossbills roam with spruce cones, and a Goldeneye duck was observed at a cavity nest. The bear den况 remains unseen this spring. Contact Kingdon with nesting finds at 1.204.848.7240.
