An army of about 20 000 census takers will visit roughly 4 590 000 Canadians as the census begins in June. They face dog encounters, rough trails, and fines for sharing data, while recalling humorous anecdotes from past censuses including nudist camps, elderly couples concealing ages, and a flag planting tactic to mark homes.
