Rural Municipality of Hillsburg issues a tax arrears sale notice for parcels in Roblin Manitoba. Under a June 2 1923 warrant the secretary treasurer warns sale by public auction on July 14 1923 at 2 pm for unpaid taxes and costs with CN B right of way and municipal roadways exempt.
Pasture at four miles from Roblin offered at 2 50 per month for horses or cattle. Application at Review Office or phone 84 13 Roblin. Stays of a large white sow missing since May 19 are noted with a reward for recovery. A red sow with horns cut is reported found near Meg Path with information sought. Also To Let available June 1 on rd avenue with garage and garden plots of 50x190 feet.
The Roblin Cemetery has declined in upkeep with overgrown grass and disorderly graves. A community bee on Tuesday June 8 starting at 9 am invites all willing to bring tools to clean and beautify the grounds, with J B Baine at No 26 coordinating and local ladies offering quilts for participants from the country.
Roblin Chautauqua begins at the union churches June 20 to 26 with J E McNeill delivering an address. Local events include a furniture auction on June 16, hog shipments to Winnipeg, visitors from Dauphin and Makaroff, and Beartdon travel. The High School football team challenges Roblin seniors for a Friday game at 7 30. W J Westwood appointed relucling officer for the June 22 referendum. The season opener baseball game McNutt at Roblin ends 7 5 in favor of Roblin. hopes for another match soon.
Mr and Mrs M McCutcheon return from Manitoulin Island Ont and take up residence on a nearby farm. J L Mitchell leaves for Port Arthur Ont to attend union churches convention and Masonic gathering in Winnipeg. Ladies group meets in church basement Friday at 8 pm to plan cemetery care. Garden Party at Roblin Saturday evening features band orchestra jitney changes and an evening of amusement. Anyone with a car should gather friends for a party and enjoy the grounds admission 25 cents.
Merridale notes celebrate Roblin Chautauqua set for June 20 and a baseball tournament slated for July 12 while reporting good crop weather. A newborn Merridite, a son to Pruskin, and farm equipment sales plans are mentioned along with community kitchen rebuilding and a forthcoming sale of implements. A new underground discovery is teased, the Duele Mountain fire is out, and thanks are given to fire crews for their round-the-clock efforts.
Roblin locals report Roblin Chautauqua and Bastball Tournament set for July 1 at Roblin. A. Duthie arrived from Winnipes to spend summer on his farm. District farmers finish seed ing with some green feed. Social at L. C. Wells home Saturday was enjoyed by all. Rich ball players seek reunion. Fred Drinkwater demonstrates finishing touches. Lily Hrynchuk returns from hospital after appendicitis operation and recovers well. Sad news: Mr and Mrs H Scrimshaw lost youngest daughter to measles. district offers sympathy.
