BU study says rural Manitoba boundaries blur amid growth
Brandon University researchers at the Rural Development Institute report that strong rural municipalities require 3000 people and a $130 million tax base. Using 18 self contained labour areas, the studies describe SLAs as functional regions with intra regional flows and inter regional divergence. The briefs, funded by Manitoba, address Bill 33 and rural amalgamations.
