Early weed control guides for canola and cereals
Agronomist Thom Weir of Viterra Yorkton discusses how cold windy weather delayed weed emergence and reduced pre-burn herbicide use, raising pressure on post-emergent chemicals. He cites Neil Harker AAFC Lacombe findings that early removal boosts yields and outlines suitable herbicide timing for canola, peas, and cereals to minimize losses from early and stressed weed populations.
