An early Friday blaze of unknown origin devastated Roblin in the business district. The Roblin Trading Co store, Smale and Snedden barter shop, a pool room, and a partially built building next to Mr PF Y Newton's were totally destroyed. The Central Market brick building and the Royal Bank structure suffered major damage but fire guards and a bucket brigade prevented wider spread. Estimated loss runs about 60000.
Fire at Wm Thompson's barn five miles west of town caused total loss of all contents while stock was saved. Discovered about 4 80 a m the blaze is believed incendiary or arson. the farmer resided on the adjoining farm and reported the incident.
A July 14 Roblin clinic turned the Roblin School into a temporary hospital with an operating theatre in the library. Dr Gunne of Dauphin assisted by Doctors Coppinger and Drach oversaw volunteer staff and 10 resident nurses. Volunteers from the W I ran wards and a gratis lunch room.

Mrs Fletcher stays to visit Mrs R Reck.
