In the Poultry Yard Experimental Farms Note
The note advises removing mature males after hatching season, as hens lay well without them and infertile eggs pack best. Collect eggs often, keep cool, market promptly, and use daily preservation solution. Cull hens not kept as breeders, especially broody or past laying, and use trap nests to identify low producers. June sales yield higher prices than fall.
