Obituary for Ed Reed aged 83 of Roblin cites June 21 death at Brandon hospital with funeral June 25 at Knox United Church Roblin officiated by Rev. Ross Williams and burial in Roblin cemetery. Survived by wife seven daughters three sons twenty two grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Separate Roblin notice reports John Bouvier who died June 27 1963 aged 58 with services June 29 at Roblin Sacred Heart Church and interment in Catholic cemetery. Survived by Irene wife four sons Oscar Ernest Ronald Richard three daughters Eva Rita Germaine and others and siblings with twelve grandchildren.

The Roblin Chapter No. 42 of the Order of Eastern Star welcomed Worthy Grand Matron Irene Ramsey and party on June 24. A buffet supper preceded an evening with Grand Officers, a gift from the chapter, and a Cancer Control cheque. Ramsey spoke of Winnipeg’s new Cancer Treatment Centre and a $175,000 machine. guests included officers and visitors from multiple towns, ending with a luncheon.
A ceremony at a friendship garden hosted seven new members: Mrs. F. Dayson, Mrs. R. McGuire, Mrs. Chick, Mrs. W. Fowler, Mrs. L. Beattie, Miss R. Gerega, and Mrs. C. Rogers under Degree Captain Mrs. Hazel E. Ford. Visitors from Yorkton and Kamsack Lodges attended. July and August recesses were decided. next meeting September 12.
The Roblin Accordian Institute met at Mrs. Miller’s home Saturday with nine members and one visitor. President Mrs. Miller led the session as minutes were read and adopted.
Architects Pratt Lindgren and Associates of Winnipeg announce a 79742 contract to J Rutar Construction Russell for a one storey brick faced residence in Roblin Manitoba. The Senior Citizens Accommodation Project will have 13 suites with communal living and recreation facilities and is to be ready for occupancy in November 1963.
Goose Lake Intermediate School hosts Grade 8 exercises with speaker Mr. P. Bugera. Principal O Ziolkowski welcomes students as H Maslove awards diplomas and honors including the W I Proficiency Cup to Karen Cross.
Harold Boughton reports on barley and wheat leaf spotting and root rot likely caused by Helminthosporium. University lab notes poor thrifty condition, moisture or nutrients, with advice to break barley barley rotations and rotate with wheat oats or special crops to curb infection.
The Roblin Elks received the Gad Gillum trophy from a district deputy of the Grand Exalted Ruler honoring a Manitoba lodge with under 100 members active in charity. Elks baseball teams host Grandview and Gilbert Plains games, with over $600 spent on two teams in two years. A July auto show and a 50th anniversary celebration boost town activities and a festival banner will greet visitors.
Goose Lake Intermediate announces promotions for students moving up to the next grade. The compiled alphabetic lists show GRADE 5 to 6 and GRADE 6 to 7 and include numerous names across sections.
