Mountain View school division embraces energy savings drive
MVSD supervisor Stewart McKenzie reports participation in a Manitoba Hydro energy manager program with 13 divisions. He cites a potential 10 to 20 percent reduction in annual costs from waste water and electricity conservation, noting lighting upgrades at Barker Elementary and T-12 bulb replacements with more efficient fixtures. Intellligent parking lot controllers are deployed in several MVSD sites to curb energy use, with payback under a year.
