The opening game of the Cus pidor League week series at the joint YM Board of Trade meeting saw Roblin Junior Team lose to YM B T. The YMBT team won six to five. Games will be held twice weekly and a season cup will go to the winner. Friday’s game pits married men against bachelors.

Cromarty locals attend a Jan box social and dance at Cromarty school. Miss Kathleen Collins returns home after New Year visit. Mrs Cooper of Shortdale visits her sister Mrs McDuffe. Mrs Baggott returns from visiting near Carberry. Katherine Funk, former Meadow Portage teacher, spends holidays at home. The Cromarty W I held its first 1986 meeting at Mrs W Black’s with 17 members. welfare of children discussed and lunch served. The P I held a meeting at Don Black’s with 27 members. short program and games followed by a dainty lunch. Next meeting set for Jan 27 at K Funk’s.
Tummel locals Mr Wm Adams spent two weeks at home and returned to Gladstone last week. Miss Francis Howe returned home after visiting friends in Deepdale. Mr Callin Brooks returned home after two months with relatives in Winnipeg. United Church W.A elected officers at last Thursday’s meeting: Pres Mrs J. M Kiness, Vice-Pres Mrs Fox. Tummel Un- Sec Teres Miss Mabel McFadden. secretary Franklin Goodwin. Reports heard from treasurer and organizations. financial standing praised given elan conditions in the district.
Local residents report arrivals and departures including Mr Harry Sures returning from Winnipeg and Mrs Burt leaving Fishing Lake. Mr Guy Parker and Mr Geo Rux shipped two carloads of stock to Winnipeg. Dr Rabinovitch of Kamsack plans town visits on the 21st 29th and 28th inst for medical practice. Ladies Aid Society hosts a United Church entertainment on Friday 24 featuring Scotch items a one act play and lunch.
Merridale locals and visitors learn Kelly Cockerill's sawmill is operating again this season. Miss Shaw of Gilbert Plains, visiting relatives, returned home last week. Over fifty people gathered at the Bert Cockerill home for a whist drive and party.
Dropmore residents report Mrs. Comfort leaving for Winnipeg to begin nurse training this week. Mrs Holmes and her sister Mrs Gil hooly visited in Calgary. a Romanian youth group held a spa and dance in Dropmore hall last week, apologizing for limited English. Pancake Supper announced for Tummel hill in January with adults 29 cents and children free.
