Place Names Along The Trails Of Early Explorers
A historical survey traces Manitoba place names tied to 17th and 18th century exploration. It covers Hudson Bay voyages, fur trade posts, key figures like Hudson, Button, Radisson, By lot, Kelsey, Henday, La Verendrye, and early routes from York Factory to the Red and Assiniboine forks. The piece notes fortifications, charters, and the shift from voyage discovery to surveying and mapping.
