Ronald R. W. Kinney is appointed as the first general manager of Parkland Regional Development Inc. A geographer and rural development specialist, Kinney has served as Acting Director of Manitoba's Regional Development Branch and worked with Metro Winnipeg and in Kitchener Ontario. Fire damages home. Roblin fire crew responds
Firefighters battled a blaze at about 5 45 p m Tuesday at the home of Nick Hromaluk on Main Street East. The flames were extinguished quickly causing about 200 in damage. Roblin Fire Department answered eleven calls this year, five inside town and six rural.

Assiniboine Bridge Relocated To PR 478 For Upgraded Route
Manitoba Department of Transportation will dismantle the Assiniboine River bridge near Dropmore and move it to Provincial Road 478 west of Binsearth. The steel and timber structure will be salvaged and rebuilt as a 262 foot bridge with a 24 foot roadway, at a cost of $88,545 by Macaw and MacDonald Ltd, due May 17 next year. This first phase upgrades PR 478 from Binscorth to the Manitoba Saskatchewan border.

Roblin Hospital Board Endorses By-Laws and Equipment Purchases
The Roblin Hospital District No. 2 held its regular meeting on December 23 1968 at 8 00 p m. Treasurer Ina Simpson moved accounts totaling 4635 33 on the Operating account and 3894 00 on the Capital account were paid. The board reviewed walk in cooler renovations at Ste Rose Hospital and flooring options including Flecto-Seamless. Further basement flooring studies and quotations were ordered. Doctor car plug ins added and extra snow fence erected. Purchase of an Olivetti Underwood electric adding machine was approved along with filing cabinet quotations. By Laws for the Roblin District Hospital Medical By-Laws were adopted. A coding institute attended by Mrs E Sims and Mrs H Ford at Dauphin General Hospital.
