Wedding Recap at Merridale for War Bride and Hartmeir Union

War bride reception at Merridale in honor of Mrs Reg Cockerill and her husband Reg Cockerill formerly of Winnipeg Rifles who served in Belgium Holland and Germany. The couple plan Merridale home and received many gifts while praising the welcome. Laura Winnifred Gordon and Robert J Hartmeir wed in St James with Rev G A McMillan officiating. The gown was pearl grey crepe with pink feather halo, matron of honor Mrs K Johnson and best man Mr Johnson. The couple plan to reside in Kamsack after a Vancouver Kelowna trip.

Brandon School Board Sets 1947 Levy and Courses

The Brandon trustees approve a 1947 levy of 15,000 and adopt two courses, Agriculture and Homemaking, for 1947 at Brandon. New officers include G Greenaway as chairman and T A Cameron as vice chairman with salary setup and regular winter and summer meeting dates. Courses will be held at the Normal School Brandon with dormitory and army building facilities, costing 360 for two months. The program aims to train youths 16 to 30 in farm life and home management, including livestock, soils, farm machinery, beekeeping, and civics.
