Roblin Rest Room Opens Led by Local Women

The Roblin Rest Room was officially opened on Saturday with a large turnout despite the cold. Mayor W J Westwood praised the cooperative effort, noting 61.25 netted for start up, and urged ongoing community support and municipal backing for future projects.

Local boys enlist in Canadian Active Army at Winnipeg

William J. Lowe of Merridale Man enlisted for active service at Fort Osborne Barracks Winnipeg on January 28. He was born at Gilbert Plains Man 18 years ago and farms with his father. Next of kin is Mrs Mary Lowe of Merridale. Severn W. Waters of Shevlin Men enlisted February 2 at Fort Osborne Reception Centre Winnipeg. Waters is 31, a grain buyer for National Grain Co, born in the United States, married, with wife and next of kin Muriel Waters of Shevlin.
