C. H. Burnell president of the Manitoba Wheat Pool spoke at the Oakville Branch United Farmers meeting on January 28. He urged stronger farmer organization to ensure prosperity and cited cooperative efforts allowing farmers to sell through their own pools and keep full profits. He noted the Eggs and Poultry Pool last year handled substantial volume.
The Manitoba Live Stock Cooperative and Manitoba Co-operative Dairies seek broader cream shipper and farmer support to build a stronger provincial cooperative network. Leaders call for unity among farmers to rival North American models, stressing natural resources, electricity expansion, and development of fisheries, timber, and mining wealth.

The Anglican church hosts a concert and dance on Friday February 10 with Dr. McConnell visiting the district on Tuesday to oversee Livestock Association shipments from Deepdale and Roblin. A debate on February 18 at the hall features teams debating whether it is better to live with a dirty good natured woman than a clean ganky woman.
The Masquerada social night featured baskets and a lively, arty display. Judges faced a tough task selecting winners with Mrs Baker winning ladies 1st and W Allen taking gent's 1st. Mr Addis won ladies comic while Mr B Donaldson claimed gents comic.
Fort Francis visit by Gegge Sanders is noted. Kelly Cockerill traveled to Dauphin on business. H Fraser injured his leg fixing a wheel. J D McLaren from Roblin promoted Singer Sewing Machines in the district. R Sutherland of Deepdale renews lumber work at Cockerill's mill. Nix Gill of Swan River inspected Lake Lauder area. Cockerill Lumber sawmill engaged with new machines and electricity at the camps.
Sunday services and events listed across Deepdale Silverwood and Makaroff chapels include Bible readings from Revelation Chapter 19, Holiness Sunday School, Cottage meetings, and Lantern Lecture on Shakespeare’s Plays. Pastors Hubert T. Smith and local officers coordinate February services with weekday gatherings and special lectures.
The Roblin Bonspiel concluded with multiple prizewinners across divisions. Winners include Woods Gilbert Plaine Hartmier Roblin Greena way Roblin Tulmer and others in the Grand Challenge and Competition events with consolation and all comers pending final turns.
Mr J E Balne visits Winnipeg on business this week. A note mentions social events including a Cromarty WAL card party at Walter Black's home and a fountain pen gift to Mrs Wim Chapman as she leaves the district, with a light luncheon to close.
Local resident Mr TL Mitchell attends the Agriculture Society convention in Winnipeg. The Cromarty W.1. held a meeting with a luncheon. Funeral services for Mr B Dupe took place at Tamaruiel cemetery led by GE Phillips. A marriage occurred at Union Church Manse Keunne between Evelyn Mowforth and Alex McLean.
Under the Municipal Act the Municipality of Shell River announces a tax sale of lands in unorganized territory for arrears of taxes. Warrant issued by the Reeve, sale to begin February 4, 1928, at Roblin Manitoba. Secretary-Treasurer Westwood oversees the process.
Auction notice by Taylor and Colwill solicitors Portage la Prairie Manitoba states a pure auction of farm property in Roblin province. It lists 250 acres cultivated with several frame buildings and three granaries. Terms require 20 percent cash at sale and balance due later. Sale date February 11, 1928 at noon.
